The Old Tennis Court Garden, Buckinghamshire
A gravel garden has been created over the site of an old tennis court that was no longer required. We broke up and remodelled the surface to create a place for dining and relaxing. Limestone paths weave their way through drought resistant planting passing boulders and alighting on seating areas.
The contemporary water feature brings life to the space. The oak loggia provides outdoor dining and cooking for family gatherings. The attached pergola has a fireplace for evening relaxation.
The project was designed with sustainability at its heart. We didn’t remove any waste from the site and used recycled materials to build up the levels where required. The ground is kept at a low nutrient level to suit the selected plants and will require no irrigation once established.
