Formal Garden Hampstead
The owners of this exclusive modern residence wanted instant impact in their 2.5 acre garden. Topiarised trees create a sense of drama and structure. Sweeping banks of box hedging flow across the landscape bringing shape and direction. Scented climbers cloak the hidden retaining walls of the 50 metre drive, and mature trees provide privacy. An existing stone water feature is developed into a rock garden using large English granite boulders. Each boulder was hand selected from a Cornish quarry and arranged to produce an impressive flight of stone steps. A roof garden was created for entertaining, with classic box hedging in planters and giant conker sculptures by Michael McManus beneath the chestnut trees.
