In this large family garden two oval lawns are woven together ...
Phase One of this 2.5 acre development began with a pool and pond refurbishment. Grassy banks wrap around two sides of a telescopic pool enclosure. A stone terrace provides a lounging/ sunbathing area, while a large slab of reclaimed York stone railway platform creates a bridge across the stream. Tall grasses provide seclusion from the house and the planting retains a wild and untamed feel.
Revamping selected key areas in a garden can have the effect of transforming the entire space. In this case, a Rooms Outdoor studio nestles amongst mature trees. Decking and planted beds on either side anchor the building to the garden. The interior and exterior furnishings were designed to complement each other. Elsewhere an existing pond was refurbished, with new granite stepping stones replacing tired concrete.
